Privacy

Rhetra creates no account and keeps no history on the publisher's side. Your data stays on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your private iCloud database — which the publisher cannot reach. Only two features go through our server, and only if you use them: the coach's review and the temple's phalanxes. Both are described below, in full.

What the app stores

Without an iCloud account everything stays strictly local: the app works entirely offline.

Health

With your explicit permission, Rhetra reads your body weight, your workouts and running routes (including those from other apps), heart rate, active energy, distance and sleep, and writes each finished session to Health as a workout. That data stays managed by Apple Health. Only one value ever leaves it, and only with your consent: your average sleep over seven nights, attached to the coach's review (see below). You can withdraw the permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

Location

During a run, and only then, the app reads your location to record the route. The route is saved in Health alongside the workout. It is not sent anywhere.

Calendar

If you allow it, the app creates a dedicated "Rhetra" calendar and places your upcoming sessions in it. It neither reads nor modifies your other calendars.

The coach's review

The Monday review (Rhetra Pro) is written by an artificial intelligence. Before the first review, the app asks for your consent; without it, nothing is sent. With it, once a week the app sends our server (a Cloudflare Worker) a summary of your week: your goals, age, availability, stress level and physical limitations as you declared them, your average sleep, your programme, exercises, loads and records, and the app's language. The summary carries neither your name, nor your email address, nor your Apple Account.

The server passes it to Google (Gemini API), which writes the review on the publisher's behalf. The server keeps the latest written review for 60 days, so it can serve it again, plus a technical device identifier (Apple's App Attest) that prevents abuse. Nothing else is kept. You can withdraw your consent at any time in Profile: reviews stop immediately.

The temple and phalanxes

A temple is a voluntary sharing space between people you invite. It runs on Apple's CloudKit sharing: members of a temple see its name, your display name, the challenges and the performances you publish there. Nothing else from your history is shared, and nothing is published without an action on your part. Leaving a temple removes your access; its founder can destroy it.

A phalanx is a live session with several people. While it lasts, your display name, rounds and scores go through our server so the other participants can see them. They are erased from the server at most six hours after the phalanx opens.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. The publisher receives neither your payment method nor your Apple Account.

What we never do

This website measures nothing either: no cookies, no analytics, no form that sends anything anywhere. The waiting-list button opens your mail client — that is all it does.

Erasing your data

Deleting the app erases the local data. iCloud data is removed in Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Rhetra. Health data is managed in the Health app. The app also offers "Delete everything" in Profile.

Your rights

The GDPR grants you rights of access, rectification, erasure and portability. Your data lives on your device: the CSV export provides portability, and deletion is immediate and local. On the server side there is only the latest coach's review, erased after 60 days; write to the address below to have it erased right away. Processing for the review is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
